Lenin Moreno
Lenín Boltaire Moreno Garcés is an Ecuadorian politician, currently the President of Ecuador, in office from May 2017. Moreno was Vice President from 2007 to 2013, under the leadership of President Rafael Correa. He was nominated as a candidate for the PAIS Alliance of Correa, a political and social democratic party, in the 2017 presidential election and won a narrow victory in Ecuador's second round of voting on May 2. 4 year 2017. However, after his election, Moreno completely changed his political stance, separated himself from Correa's leftist legacy and implemented neoliberal changes to policy towards internal and external. Moreno was shot dead in a 1998 robbery and later in a wheelchair. Because of his advocacy for people with disabilities, he was nominated for the 2012 Nobel Peace Prize.
