Aleister Crowley is an English mystic, ritual mage, poet, painter, novelist and climber. He founded the Thelema religion, claiming to be a prophet whose mission was to guide humanity through the destruction of Horus in the early 20th century. As a prolific writer, he has published many articles in all my life. Born into a wealthy family at the Royal Leamington Spa, Warwickshire, Crowley rejected the orthodox faith of his parents, Christian Plymouth Brethren, in favor of Western esotericism. He trained at Trinity University, Cambridge University, where he focused on rock climbing and poetry, leading to several publications. Some biographers claim that he was recruited here from a British intelligence agency, further indicating that he remained a spy throughout his life. In 1898 he joined the Hermetic Esoteric Order of the Golden Dawn, where he was trained in ritual magic by Samuel Liddell MacGregor Mathers and Allan Bennett.

Mystic, prophet, and founder of Thelemite philosophy, which preaches that love is the law. In 1904, he published The Book of the Law, Thelema's core sacred text.
