Michael DeWayne Brown was the senior deputy minister of Emergency Preparedness and Response, a division of the Department of Homeland Security. This position is often referred to as the director or administrator of the Federal Emergency Management Agency. He was appointed in January 2003 by President George W. Bush and resigned following the handling of controversial Hurricane Katrina in September 2005. Brown was appointed for the first time as general counsel at FEMA. After the September 11 terrorist attacks, President Bush appointed Brown as deputy director of FEMA. Brown is hosting an 850 KOA radio show in Denver, Colorado.
