Calvin Thomas "C. J." Bruton Jr. is an Australian-American professional basketball coach and former footballer and assistant coach of the Brisbane Bullets of the Australian National Basketball Federation. He played most of his career in the NBL, where he won six league titles and was selected five times in the All-NBL roster. Bruton has played for many NBL teams during his career: Perth Wildcats, Brisbane Bullets, Wollongong Hawks, Canberra Cannons, Sydney Kings and New Zealand Breakers. Bruton was born in the United States and moved to Australia at the age of 3 when his father, Cal, signed with Bullets in 1979. He returned to the United States to play varsity basketball for the Indian Hills Community College from 1995 to 1997. Bruton was the Vancouver Grizzlies second-round pick in the 1997 NBA Draft and joined Portland Trail. Blazers, but failed to break through. .
