Edwin Mattison McMillan is an American physicist and a Nobel Laureate recognized as the first producer of the element transuranium, neptunium. So he shared the Nobel Prize in chemistry with Glenn Seaborg in 1951. Graduated from the California Institute of Technology, he obtained a doctorate from Princeton University in 1933, and joined the Berkeley Radiation Laboratory, where he distributed.
