Julia Ann Harris is an American actress. Renowned for her classic and contemporary theatrical work, she received five Tony awards for Best Actress in a play. Harris debuted on Broadway in 1945, contrary to the wishes of her mother, who wanted her to be a social debut. Harris was critically acclaimed for her performance as a 12-year-old girl isolated in the 1950 play The Member of the Wedding, a role she played in the 1952 film of the same name, nomination for an Oscar for Best Actress. . . In 1951, her lines were presented as Sally Bowles in the original production of I Am a Camera, for which she won her first Tony Award. She later appeared in the 1955 film version. Harris has had critically acclaimed performances in films such as The Haunting and Reflections in a Golden Eye, in which she starred alongside Marlon Brando. As a method actress, she won the Tony Award for The Lark, Forty Carats, The Last of Mrs Lincoln and The Belle of Amherst.
