Adrian Malik Fenty is an American politician who served as the sixth mayor of the District of Columbia. He served one term, from 2007 to 2011, losing primary re-election to Democratic Party member Vincent C. Gray. Although Fenty won the Republican mayor's primary election as a writing candidate, he turned down the Republican nomination and said he likely wouldn't. Run for re-election. Gray won the general election for mayor in the majority Democratic district. Since leaving, Fenty has served as a special advisor to venture capital firm Andreessen Horowitz and a member of the business development team at the law firm Perkins Coie. Fenty has held consulting and business development positions at Rosetta Stone, Everfi and CapGemini. He also sits on the boards of two non-profit organizations: Genesys Works-Bay Area and Fight for Children.
