Border Gezi is a Zimbabwean politician. He is a close ally of Robert Mugabe in ZANU-PF and has served as Minister of Gender, Youth and Employment since 2000, previously as governor of the province. Gezi was raised in Mvurwi and attended Holy Rosary High School. He was first secretary of accounts for the Zimbabwe Power Supply Authority before being elected to the Zimbabwe House in place of Muzarabani in the 1990 elections. In 1993, he was elected ZANU-PF president for Mashonaland Central, and the government appointed him governor of the province since 1996. During the 2000 legislative election, Gezi was responsible for recruiting and organizing groups. support the young ZANU-PF in a self-defense militia. The militia forces he led were involved in violent attacks against the Democrat Change Movement's supporters and invading white farms.
