William Randolph "Cozy" Cole is an American jazz drummer who has had success with songs "Topsy I" and "Topsy II". "Topsy II" reached No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100 and No. 1 on the R&B chart. It has sold over a million copies and received a gold record. The song peaked at number 29 on the UK Singles Chart in 1958. The record featured a long drum solo and was one of the few solo drum solo records to chart on Billboard magazine. The single was released by Love Records, a small record company in Brooklyn, New York. Cole's song "Turvy II" peaked at number 36 in 1959 .
