George Gershwin is an American composer, pianist and painter with compositions spanning both popular and classical genres. Among his most famous works are compositions by the orchestras Rhapsody in Blue and An American in Paris, the songs "Swanee" and "Fascinating Rhythm", the standard jazz track "I Got Rhythm" and the play. opera Porgy and Bess, giving birth to the hit "Summertime". Gershwin studied piano under Charles Hambitzer and composed with Rubin Goldmark, Henry Cowell and Joseph Brody.
