Izora Rhodes-Armstead is an American singer and songwriter. Known for his distinctive alto voice, Armstead first became known as the half of the hit performance Two Tons O 'Fun as a accompaniment to American disco singer Sylvester. After securing their own record contracts, they released three consecutive commercially successful songs, all of which reached number 2 on the dance music chart. The duo were renamed The Weather Girls in 1982 after the release of their bestselling single "It's Raining Men", which drew the duo's attention to mainstream pop. As a duo, The Weather Girls released five albums and featured largely on Sylvester's albums. After the Weather Girls disbanded in 1988, Armstead released a single, "Don't Let Love Slip Away". In 1991, she reformed The Weather Girls with her daughter Dynelle Rhodes, who was once one of the duo's background singers. Over the course of a decade, they released three albums: Double Tons of Fun, Think Big !, and Puttin 'On The Hits.
