Kathleen Marie Marshall is an American attorney and politician who is the current Lieutenant Governor of Nevada. She is a member of the Democratic Party and was previously the Nevada State Treasurer. She was ineligible to run for a third term as treasurer in 2014 due to lifetime term limits established by the Nevada Constitution. She unsuccessfully ran for Nevada Secretary of State in 2014. In 2018, she was elected Lieutenant Governor.

About Kate Marshall
After serving from 2007 to 2014 as State Treasurer of Nevada, this Democratic Party politician launched a campaign for Nevada Secretary of State.
She earned both her bachelor's degree and her J.D. from the University of California, Berkeley. She entered into politics after serving as Nevada's Senior Deputy Attorney General.
In 2011, she ran unsuccessfully for a Nevada seat in the United States Congress.
She grew up in San Francisco, California, and later relocated to Reno, Nevada, where she raised daughters named Molly and Anna.
She and Colorado Republican politician Mike Coffman served as treasurers of their respective states.
