David Andrew Burd, known by his stage name Lil Dicky, is an American rapper, comedian and actor. He rose to fame with the release of the music video for the song "Ex-Boyfriend" on April 25, 2013, which rose to fame with over a million views on YouTube in 24 hours. He released his debut album Professional Rapper on July 31, 2015. In 2018, his song “Freaky Friday”, starring Chris Brown, became a worldwide hit. He also caught the spotlight with the 2019 music video "Earth", which featured many singers and actors including Ariana Grande, Justin Bieber, Ed Sheeran, Shawn Mendes, Kevin Hart, Wiz Khalifa, Charlie Puth, Katy Perry and Leonardo DiCaprio. The song is performed to raise awareness about the environment, pollution and climate change. Burd says part of the song proceeds are donated to various environmental charities.

Born David Burd, he was a comic book rapper who made his way on YouTube when the music video for his song “Ex-Boyfriend” went viral. He released a 2013 mixtape called So Hard and a 2015 album called Professional Rapper. In 2018, he collaborated with Chris Brown on the song "Freaky Friday".
Initially, he participated in rap to gain attention as a comedian so that he could write movies and shows as well as act. It turned out that his love for rap took over and decided to continue in that direction.
He worked in account management at advertising agency Goodby Silverstein & Partners before the company brought him into the creative department, where he wrote copies for commercials like the NBA's BIG campaign.
He was born in Cheltenham Township, Pennsylvania, to a Jewish family.
