Michael Newbold Castle is an American lawyer and politician who served as Governor of Delaware and Representative of the United States for Delaware Congressional Representative. He is a member of the Republican Party. This county covers the entire state of Delaware and is the oldest intact county in the nation. He is the longest serving US representative in state history. Before being elected to Congress, Castle was a member of the Delaware General Assembly, beginning with the State House of Representatives and then with the State Senate. He was the 20th Lieutenant Colonel of Delaware from 1981 to 1985 and the 69th Governor of Delaware from 1985 to 1992. On October 6, 2009, Castle announced his candidacy in the 2010 special election. for seats in the US Senate by the Democratic Party. Ted Kaufman. Kaufman, appointed by Governor Ruth Ann Minner to fill the position created by Joe Biden, was not running.
