Momčilo Nastasijević is a Serbian poet, novelist and playwright born in Gornji Milanovac in Serbia, and his work was published during a literary period between two world wars. However, he spent most of his adult life teaching at the Belgrade Gymnasium. During his lifetime, Momčilo Nastasijević was less well known than some of his contemporaries such as Miloš Crnjanski and Rastko Petrovi, however, recently his work has started to gain attention again. His literary output was not excellent and was immediately appreciated by a small circle of close friends. The poetry closely linked to the music allowed the success of a teamwork between the brother of the poet Momčilo Nastasijevi and his brother Svetomir Nastasijević, the composer.
