Rudolph “Rudy” Ernst Boesch was a SEAL in the US Navy and was a two-time rival on the reality show Survivor. Born and raised in Rochester, New York, Boesch joined the US Navy at the age of 17. It became the Frogman Underwater Demolition Team in 1951, being part of two UDT teams. He was selected as one of the first SEALs, becoming the captain of the new SEAL HAI team in 1962. Beginning in 1968 and 1970, Boesch carried out two combat deployments during the war. Heroic acts. During this time and beyond, Boesch set fitness and performance standards at SEAL Team TWO. In 1987, he became a senior adviser to the United States Special Operations Command.
