Shabnam Surayyo, is a Tajik singer. She was born into a musician family, to her mother Surayyo Qosimova and sister Farzonai Khurshed, who are also popular singers in her country. However, she was less known until her popularity skyrocketed in 2006, when one of her singles took the number 1 spot in her country. After her success, she became known to the Tajiks and Persians worldwide. Most notably, she is famous in Afghanistan because she works with singers from that country and also covers their songs, either with original artists or with their permission, for example, like her duets with Jawid Sharif or Najib Nawabi. Shabnam also collaborated with Afghan singer Jawid Sharif on a duet called Ey Khuda.
