She was president of the Andhra Pradesh State Trucking Corporation and spokesperson for the Prajarajyam party, former secretary general and also a member of the state committee of the Telugu Desam party. In 2012, she left the Prajarajyam party and participated in the new YSR Congress. Her husband Bhuma Nagi Reddy is also a politician who has been a member of the Legislative Assembly twice and has been a member of Congress three times.
