Wesley Studi is a Cherokee American actor and filmmaker, who has won numerous reviews and accolades, especially for his portrayal of Native Americans in the film. He has appeared in Oscar-winning films, such as Dances with Wolves and The Last of the Mohicans, and in Oscar-nominated films Geronimo: An American Legend and The New World. He is also known as Sagat in Street Fighter. Other films he has appeared in are Hostiles, Heat, Mystery Men, Avatar, A Million Ways to Die in the West, and the TV series Penny Dreadful. In 2019, he received the Academy's Honorary Award, becoming the first Native American and the second second native from North America to be honored by the Academy. In 2020, the New York Times ranked him 19th on the list of the 25 greatest actors of the 21st century.
