Billy Sims
Billy Ray Sims is a former professional and academic football player of the United States who ran back to the National Football Federation for five seasons in the 1980s. Sims played college football for the University of Oklahoma, where he was an all-American consensus twice, and won the Heisman Trophy in 1978. He was the overall No. 1 pick in the 1980 NFL Draft and played professionally for the NFL Detroit Lions. Sims was the last player from Oklahoma to be ranked 1st in the NFL Draft until midfielder Sam Bradford was placed first in the 2010 NFL Draft. He was nicknamed "Kung Fu Billy Sims" by ESPN's Chris Berman after a match in which the Detroit Lions faced the Houston Oilers. During the climax of the NFL Films, instead of being attacked in a rushed effort, Sims ran, jumped and, while completely in the air, kicked Steve Brown's Cornerback of the Oilers in the helm.
