Charles Wendell Colson, commonly known as Chuck Colson, is an American solicitor and political advisor who served as a special advisor to President Richard Nixon from 1969 to 1970. Formerly known as "the ax bearer. "by President Nixon, Colson was notorious at the height of the Watergate scandal, for being named one of the Watergate Seven Case and pleading guilty to obstruction of justice for trying to defame defendant Daniel Ellsberg in the Papers The Pentagon. Colson became a Protestant Christian in 1973. His religious conversion from his forties brought about a radical life change, leading to the establishment of his nonprofit ministry, Prison Fellowship and three years later, Prison Fellowship International, focusing on preaching, teaching and shaping the Christian vision of the world around the world.
