Amal Maher is an Egyptian singer. She was heavily influenced by Umm Kulthum. She started singing as a child and was discovered by audiences at the age of fifteen singing Umm Kulthum's songs. Deciding to give up traditional education, Maher enrolled in the Arab Conservatory to begin a career in singing. She quickly met the composer Mohamed Diae, with whom she eventually married and had a son. Diae helped Amal Maher publish a song and music video for Ely Binak W Binah. The song was popularized on radio and television. Maher recorded her first track in 2006 and received support from Ammar El Sherei, whom she considered her spiritual father because he was a staunch supporter and mentor throughout her career. In 2004, she released her first album, Isa 'Ini Ana with many singles such as Eini Aliki Ta Tiba, Makanak, Alo El Malayka, Ana El Basha Ghona, Ana Baadak and Ya Marsr. Maher has held a number of concerts in Egypt and neighboring countries.
