Brian Patrick Lamb is an American journalist and founder, executive chairman and currently retired chief executive officer of C-SPAN, an American cable network that provides information on the House and Senate. Prior to launching C-SPAN in 1979, Lamb held a variety of communications positions, including the White House telecom policy director and Washington chief of staff for Cablevision magazine. He also served as a commissioner in the US Navy for four years. During his career, Lamb has received many honors and awards, including the Presidential Medal of Freedom and the National Medal of Humanities.
