Saravanan Sivakumar, known by his stage name Suriya, is an Indian actor, producer and TV presenter known for his work in Tamil cinema. Among its awards are three Tamil Nadu State Film Awards, four Male Filmfare Awards, two Edison Awards, a Film Express Award, a CineMAA Award and a Vijay Award. Based on Indian celebrity earnings, Suriya has been listed six times on the Forbes 100 Indian Celebrity list. After making her Nerukku Ner debut, Suriya got a breakout role in Nandha and then had her first major commercial success with the horror film Kaakha Kaakha. After award-winning performances by a crook in Pithamagan and a humpback man in Perazhagan, he plays a man with anterograde amnesia, in the 2005 blockbuster Ghajini. He became a star with two roles of father and son in Gautham Menon's semi-autobiographical novel, Vaaranam Aayiram.
