Eric Michael Swalwell is an American politician who has served as the United States representative for the 15th Congressional District of California since 2013. As a member of the Democratic Party, his county covers most of the eastern part of the county. Alameda and part of the central county of Contra Costa. Swalwell grew up in Sac City, Iowa and Dublin, California. While studying at the University of Maryland, College Park, he served as a student liaison officer for College Park, Maryland. After that, he interned for Ellen Tauscher and worked as an assistant district attorney in Alameda County, California. Before being elected to the US House of Representatives, he was appointed local on the Dublin committees and served a term on the Dublin City Council. Swalwell was elected to the US House of Representatives in November 2012, beating incumbent Pete Stark, a 40-year-old incumbent who has held the position since 1973 .
