Sister Sledge are an American vocal group from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Founded in 1971, the group includes sisters Debbie, Joni, Kim and Kathy Sledge. The brothers enjoyed international success during the height of the disco era. In 1979, they released their album We Are Family, which reached number three on the Billboard 200 and included the top 10 American singles of 1979 "He's the Greatest Dancer" and "We Are Family". The third single, “Lost in Music”, entered the top 40. “We Are Family” received a Grammy nomination for best R&B performance by a duo or group with vocals. Their other US singles include a 1982 remake of Mary Wells hit "My Guy", "Mama Never Told Me" and "Thinking of You", before reaching number one on the table. 1985. A remix of three of their 1993 singles made them into the UK's Top 20. Although Kathy started her solo career in 1989, she continued to tour with the group.
