In 2008, after releasing a Cute Doll makeup collection for pale skin, Roberts campaigned in the documentary film Nicola Roberts: The Truth About Tanning, which forbids minors from using sunbaths. His public stance with a British congressman led to a bill banning people under the age of 18 from using sunbathing beds. In 2011, Roberts released his first solo album, Cinderella's Eyes, reached number 17 on the UK Album Chart, and in turn created the hit single "Beat of My Drum".
