Eileen Sedgwick is an American actress of the silent period. She has appeared in 115 films during her 15-year career. She is the sister of director Edward Sedgwick and actress Josie Sedgwick. Sedgwick changed her name to Gretel Yoltz in the fall of 1927, after which she "found continuing work". Before the change, Sedgwick was known as "The Queen of Series" and was cast in roles in Western films. The actress had been gone long enough for the cast to disappear from Eileen Sedgwick. When Gretel Yoltz visited Gotham Productions, assigning a voice and wearing "a great outfit", she got a role in the movie The Woman on the River, after which she was cast for the second film. Eventually people began to recognize her and the ruse ended.
